DEBUNK
PRODUCTION
DEBUNKcollective is a London-based design duo founded by Maël Hénaff and Rachel Foley. Our aim is to promote engagement with emerging technologies and social sustainability through controversial scenarios and relatable futures. Working across design fiction, film, theater, interactive installations, and hands-on workshops, our work explores concepts of machine learning, AI, biotechnology, and the cultural implications of technocratic progress. As techno-optimists, we seek to uncover the absurdity in our increasingly complex world and design alongside communities and professionals to craft empowered futures. ︎

WINDRUSH
MONUMENT
UP Projects is working with the Windrush Commemoration Committee (WCC), chaired by Baroness Floella Benjamin and the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) to support the process of selecting an artist to create a national monument to the Windrush Generation at London Waterloo Station.
In 2018, the UK government announced their commitment to the development of a fitting tribute to the Windrush generation and their descendants in recognition of their vital contribution and enrichment of the UK’s social, economic and cultural history. This included the introduction of a National Windrush Day on 22nd June each year, to celebrate the anniversary of the disembarking of MV Empire Windrush at Tilbury Docks, and the establishment of the Windrush Commemoration Committee, chaired by Baroness Floella Benjamin. ︎
NEWHAM: UNLOCKED COMMUNITY BROADCASTS
Each Community Broadcast was hosted by an inspiring creative from the borough, who shared their talent and offered insight into how their creative pursuit contributes to their mental health and wellbeing. From primary school children and elders to gardeners, rag rug makers, filmmakers and talented musicians, the project shares a wealth of diverse and inspiring talent from across the Borough. Collectively, the Newham Unlocked Community Broadcasts are testament to the creativity, resilience and community spirit found in Newham.︎
