Each year we begin Material Futures with the Welcome Expedition, an opportunity to collectively leave the city behind and immerse ourselves in nature. However, after a year and a half of navigating a mostly digital course, this time doing so felt more important than ever.

For this year’s edition, we spent two nights on a farm in Sussex, surrounded by woodlands and apple trees, sharing stories and connecting to our surroundings. ︎
